Barbara Elizabeth Sutherland's Obituary
Barbara Elizabeth Sutherland, age 81 of Chesterfield Township, Michigan, a former resident of Port Austin and Clawson, Michigan, passed away on April 24, 2024. She was born on April 27, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to Louis Wilber and Edna Riddle.
Beloved Wife of the late Robert “Bob” Sutherland, who passed away on April 22, 2004. They were married on April 2, 1959. Loving Mother of Robert “Bob” (Diane) Sutherland, Jr., Timothy “Tim” (Donna) Sutherland, and Elizabeth “Beth” (Dan) Ditzhazy. Cherished Grandmother of Amber (Dan) Brenneman, Dan (Lauren) Sutherland, Melissa (Aston) Sokolnicki, and Nicole Bezenah. Great-Grandmother of Mason Sutherland, Brennan, Bradley, and Benjamin Sokolnicki, Charlotte Brenneman, and Aria Bazzetta. Barbara is survived by her two brothers, Jerry Riddle and Don Riddle.
She was born and raised in Madison Heights and was later a long time resident of Clawson and Port Austin before moving to Chesterfield Twp.
She will be reunited with her loving husband Bob who preceded her in death by 20 years almost to the day.
She will be missed but will always be remembered for her kindness and loving, caring heart.
Visitation will begin on Monday, April 29th at 4:00 pm and will continue until the time of the Funeral Service at 7:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will take place at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
