Barbara Ellen Morisette's Obituary
Barbara Ellen (Perrino) Morisette, age 82 of Clawson, Michigan passed away on February 1, 2025 at Autum Woods Health Care, Warren, Michigan. She was born on April 9, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan.
Barbara was the youngest of five children born to Toney Amos and Elizabeth Mable (Smith) Perrino. All of her siblings preceded her in death. She graduated from Royal Oak Kimball High School. She went to Shapero Nursing School and became an LPN. She and Joseph Morisette were married on April 25, 1964 and together they have 3 children; James (Jill), David (MaryAnn) and Barbara Jo (Richard Porzadek).
Barbara loved to dance, go to the movies, travel and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing with her grandchildren and spending time with them on the holidays. She could play games, especially cards for hours!
She had many careers throughout her life including nurse, dance teacher and choreographer, business manager, tax preparer and latchkey aide. But most of all, she was a mom, grandma and aunt.
She was a deeply spiritual person who loved Jesus and the Blessed Mother. She taught “Life in the Spirit” classes and Liturgical Dance at St. Elizabeth Church and gave teachings at the prayer meetings. She was a wonderful prayer warrior and many of her prayers for others were answered.
Barbara is survived by her children, David Joseph (MaryAnn), Barbara Jo (Richard Porzadek), her stepson, James Donald (Jill), grandchildren Melissa, James (Nisha), Isaac, Rebecca (Jason Kollias), Molly, Elizabeth, Emma, Christina (Anthony Seder), Patrick and Angela, great-grandchildren Kalifornia, Anya, Liliana, Ava and Benjamin, great-great-grandchildren Easton and Ka’Jour, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7th from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary service at 7:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. The Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 8th beginning at 10:30 am (Instate) followed by the 11:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 28353 Herbert Street, Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will be at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan.
