Barbara A. Collins' Obituary
Barbara A. Collins, age 80 of Warren, Michigan and formerly of Ferndale, Michigan passed away on July 30, 2014 at her home. She was born December 6, 1933 in Ottawa, Canada. The seventh of eleven children.
Beloved Wife of the late John J. Collins (d. 2003). Dear Mother of Philip Collins, Terese (Patrick) Grant, Bridget (Larry) Maiorana, Christine Hoppel, Annette (Rich) LaBelle, Barbara (Kamil) Collins, John Collins, Mary (Richard) Komm, Molly Collins and Cathy (Ron) Shelp. Grandmother of 23 and Great Grandmother of 3. Sister of Ethel Murphy, Rita Ruelle, Muriel Bourdeau, John Robert McEvoy and Ginny Maisel. Predeceased by her siblings Thomas McEvoy, Archie McEvoy, Martin McEvoy, Joan Pettit, Dorothy Thomas, and her grandson Gregory Hoppel.
Barb “let her life speak” through her dedication to her family and community. She was a long time member of St. James Parish in Ferndale and more recently was very active in St. Mary Magdalen Parish, the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Capuchins.
Visitation Sunday, August 3rd, 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm (Rosary 7:00 pm) at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights, Mich.
Funeral Monday, August 4th, 10:30 am - Instate, 11:00 am Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Hazel Park, Mich. Burial Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, Mich.
