Earl Stone, age 77 of Madison Heights, Michigan passed away on December 25, 2020 at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. He was born on February 28, 1943 in Highland Park, Michigan to Taft and Jessie (maiden Goodman) St Read Obituary
Polly, Sharon, and Ron, we are very sorry for your loss. Earl Stone, your husband and father was a great man. There are just too many good memories of our families together to list. It’s hard to find people with the great qualities Earl possessed. He was patient and kind especially with the all the players he coached and mentored. Earl was very thoughtful and dedicated. This shows in his 3 plus decades dedicated to improving youth baseball in our area. Not always a man of many words, Earl was definitely a thinker. He put thousands of hours into problem solving at the baseball field and finding a way to get things done. I enjoyed every minute of my childhood with my family at the ball field. The world and baseball has lost a man that can’t be replaced. I’m glad I had the chance to run “wild Earl’s party store” and earn the nickname “ice-man”. Earl you are forever in our hearts. May you rest in piece and eternally run the bases with the angels.
Love, Bryan Masterson and family
Most people when they think of Earl will think baseball -rightfully so. His dedication to the players, their supporters and the complex will be his legacy. But when I think of Earl I picture 3 beautiful rottweilers. He was dedicated to baseball but I know his first love was his girls. If I saw him on the road, his "shadow" was supervising his driving. If I saw him at the complex, his best friend was by his side. If the Rainbow Bridge does exist, there was one happy reunion on December 25, 2020! To Earl, Sanora, Reese and Stoney-in my heart I believe you have been reunited. Be happy, never will you be separated again. Barb
Polly, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Earl was always good to me and my family, so happy to be apart of his life. His stick with a drill bit to pick up trash was a classic, it just seems like yesterday I was picking up trash for $2 dollars and a slurpee and candy bar. He spent so many hours with me showing me how to pitch and teaching me to throw a curve ball. May he rest in peace and join my dad in heaven to continue their friendship.
Love Ryan Masterson and family.
