Robert Gerard Terbrack

May 15, 1959 - January 2, 2022

People are in your life for a reason and too often they are taken for an unknown reason. On January 2nd the world lost two great men, a father and son, Robert “Bob” Gerard Terbrack (62) and Douglas “Doug” Robert Terbrack (40). We can search endlessly and we may never find the reason or we can celebrate and remember. We choose to celebrate and remember. This is where we’d insert their life info as a textbook and you’d skim through it or we can paint you a picture of memories of their lives that were lived. We remember Bob for his commitment to his wife, children, grandchildren, family, friends, to his sobriety, and to AA. His openness for people, connecting and supporting. His love for playing euchre, taking time to enjoy his hot tub, building snowmen with his children and grandchildren, playing Santa at all the family Christmas parties. We remember him for a simple life, making plans at the cabin and inviting everyone to come up to fish, swim and sit by the fire. Bob had a way of taking those simple things in life and holding on, taking time to slow down and “Take it One Day at a Time”. We remember Doug as the guy you called when you had any issue with your car. Whether it was grinding brakes or bodywork, Doug was hands-on and tackled it. From teaching his sister to ride a dirt bike, to rebuilding the mini bike even though his Dad was upset about it, and helping his son fix his car, we remember. His draw to the casino and enjoying his time with his Dad while they were there, comparing how much was won or lost between the two. We remember him as a son, a father, a brother, a friend. Robert and Douglas are survived by wife/mother Shirley, son/brother Adam & wife Jackie, daughter/sister Kim & husband Kris, beloved grandson/son Conner. Lasting love for grandchildren/nieces and nephews, Alexis, Aiden, Aidan, Maddison, Mason, Jadelyn, and Luke. The list goes on because they were loved and will be remembered by many; mother/grandmother Delores & stepfather Harry Roggenbuck; sisters/in-laws/aunts & uncles: Nancy & Gary Windingland, Susan & Richard Fisher II, Robert Larkin, Debbie Terbrack, Sharon & John McGillis, Kathy & Dave Pollock, Gary White & Betsy, Scott & Wilma White; Ella White, step-brothers & sisters/step-aunts & step-uncles: Brian & Susie Roggenbuck, Scott & Cindy Roggenbuck, Leon & Amy Roggenbuck, Dean Roggenbuck, Renee & Dave Chumbler. And many more aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by his father/grandfather Clarence V. Terbrack, brother/uncle Ronald J. Terbrack, sister/aunt Karen (Terbrack) Larkin, mother in law/grandmother Anna White and father-in-law/grandfather Wills White, brother-in-law/uncle Raymond White. We welcome you to join us to celebrate and remember Robert at Hopcroft Funeral Home in Madison Heights on Friday, February 11th. From 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm the family will remember Robert privately, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm doors will be opened for all. A service will be held at 5:30 pm. At the conclusion of the service (6:00 pm) the Utica Lions Club will have a Walk Through in final respect.
