Rachel Laura Dyer, age 81 of Kissimmee, Florida went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 31, 2021. She devoted her entire life to her Faith in Jesus Christ thanks to her Grandmother, Rachel Niece (whom she was named after). She was born on August 19, 1939 in Democrat, Kentucky. She was formerly of Jenkins, Kentucky and Hazel Park, Michigan. Wife of the late Bobby Ray Dyer (April 12, 1982). They were married on June 11, 1957 in Angola, Indiana. Mother of Debbie (Vance) Dykes of Kissimmee, Florida and Bobbie Gail Dyer of Niles, Michigan. Grandmother of Natasha (Jesse) Hale and Vance Dykes, II. Great-Grandmother of Cheyanne Lynn Hale. Sister of James (Bing) Quillen, Diane (John) Custer and Cathy Wilson. Rachel is the daughter of the late Lola Quillen and Edward Quillen and pre-deceased by her brother, Jack Quillen. Rachel led a completely faithful life. Jesus was always First in all she did. In the 1970’s, she traveled to Jerusalem where she was baptized in the River Jordan. After her husband, Bobby Ray, passed away Rachel devoted her daily life to her daughter, Debbie. She helped raise the grandchildren, Natasha and Lil Vance. Natasha and Rachel were inseparable and the best of friends. It’s been said that Natasha was the Apple of Rachel’s eye. Their relationship was once in a lifetime. In 1999, Rachel and Natasha traveled to Kentucky where Rachel met the love of her life, Junior Hunsaker. Rachel later moved to Kentucky where they shared their lives together until his death in 2019. Afterwards, she moved to Florida where she lived out her final days with her daughter, Debbie as her caretaker. Rachel loved gardening, crossword puzzles, Game Show Network, crocheting and of course, reading the scriptures. She will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Funeral Service at 6:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan.
