Norma Jean Pugh, 88, of Hazel Park, Michigan and Dunedin, Florida passed away on March 14, 2018. Born August 31, 1929 in Royal Oak, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Beatrice Millard. Norma graduated from Royal Oak High School. She moved to Hazel Park upon marrying Charles L. Pugh and resided there for 69 years. Norma was very active in the PTA and held numerous positions including President. She also bowled in the school league earning many trophies. A life-long member of the First United Methodist Church, Norma drove for Meals on Wheels and was involved in many philanthropies during her lifetime. Norma loved to read, and along with her friend Ruth McIlvride, volunteered every Wednesday at the Hazel Park Memorial Library. She also enjoyed a great game of UNO with her grandchildren and two-handed Pinochle with whomever she could entice to play. Norma is survived by her sister, Linda Millard; and four of her five children; Eric, Marilyn Matkovich (Gar), Marsha Day-Kuhn, and Karen Tennant (John), twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Pugh; her daughter, Kimberley J. Adams (Steven) and her brother, Vernon. Visitation will be Friday, March 16, from 4-9 pm at Hopcroft Funeral home in Madison Heights, Michigan. Service will be at the funeral home at 12:30 on Saturday, March 17. Entombment to follow at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley, Michigan. Donations may be sent, in her name, to the Hazel Park Memorial Library.
