Joyce Elaine (Deal) DeVore, age 88 of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, formerly of Madison Heights, Michigan and Mission Viejo, California, passed away on January 15, 2022. She was born on January 1, 1934 in Royal Oak Township, Michigan to Anthony and Loueda Deal. Beloved wife of the late James Edward DeVore. They were married on June 2, 1956, in Hazel Park, Michigan. Joyce is pre-deceased by her two siblings, Shirley (Deal) Marley and Gary Deal. Joyce graduated with the 1951 class of Madison High School (Madison Heights, MI). Joyce and James moved to California in 1963. Joyce worked at a California insurance company for many years, however, her love of gardening and flowers, as well as her tremendous creativity, lead her to a second career as a florist. An avid sportswoman, Joyce enjoyed golf, bowling, skiing, and swimming. Joyce was a long-time advocate for animal welfare and supported many charities. While she loved all animals, she was especially fond of her beloved Great Danes. A private service is to be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made out to ASPCA, the American Heart Association, of the Alzheimer’s Association.
