Jacquelyn Ann Lyon Chandler, 85, of Hubbard Lake, MI, peacefully passed away on February 25th surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with Dementia. Jacquelyn was born on October 2nd, 1935 to Jack E. Lyon and Alice Clare Lyon in the home of the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, MI. After Jackie graduated from Traverse City High School she pursued a degree in Nursing at Sparrow Hospital part of Michigan State. After graduation, she worked as a registered Nurse for over 40 years. Jackie was passionate about painting, reading, family, shopping, spending time at the lake, and loved taking care of babies in the NICU. In the summer of 1955, she met Paul Douglas Chandler at the Brown Cow in Detroit, Michigan. Jackie and Paul went on to have two kids, David Paul Chandler and Kristine Marie Chandler. Jackie retired in July of 2001 after 40 years at the hospital. While retired, Jackie had time to enjoy her retirement home at Hubbard Lake, Michigan. Jackie was predeceased by her parents, Clare & Jack, her brother, Edward Lyon. She is survived by her husband, Paul, and her two children, David (Kathy) Chandler and Kristine Chandler. Her brother, Gerald (Emily) Lyon. Grandchildren, Melissa (Timothy) Pacifico, Dawn (Sal) Galati and Kenneth (Melanie) Chandler and 5 Great-Grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block North of 13 Mile Road, West side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan on March 27th from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Diabetes Association or Dementia Society of America, both nonprofit organizations.
