Enid 'Betty' Helen Ollila (nee Parker), age 89 of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and a proud long time resident of Madison Heights, Michigan passed away on October 1, 2020 in Shelby Township, MI. Betty was born in Detroit on October 22, 1930, the youngest of eleven children, to Eugene and Edith Parker. Betty grew up in Madison Heights and attended Madison High School where she met John G. 'Jack' Ollila. Betty and Jack were married on September 9, 1948 and were married for 48 years prior to his passing on October 16, 1996. Prior to Jack's passing, they enjoyed spending time at their Cheeri-O cabin in Up North Michigan and traveling to Florida for winter retreats, However, it was Betty's love for her family that was of utmost importance. She always tried to plan her calendar around her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and insisted on hosting every holiday occasion until, in her own words, "I want to until I can't." Her love of life and laughter will be remembered forever. Betty was extremely proud of her Irish heritage and would tell you "May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand." Dear Mother of four children: Karen Cox, Jack (Mary Ann) Ollila, Teri (Richard) Golpe, and the late Jodi Miettinen.
