During such a sad time it is nice to remember all the wonderful years we had together. I will always treasure Joyce's smile, and our childhood times together. I have so many memories of Holidays at the Grandparents. We spent alot of time together as kids, all the cousins playing outside while the adults told us to get lost.oh the good old days. It's hard to believe my friend is gone. We met over 25 years ago when we both were going through a difficult time. But out of that dark time, came a close, loyal and faithful friend. I have a treasure full of memories and good times that our families shared...thosse were the best of times! Joyce and I shared many, many, many tears, but we shared a LOT of laughs too... I am hanging on to those beautiful memories. Please know, I will continue to pray for all of you - Joyce loved all of you so! The pride she had for her children and Gabby and her sisters was a part of the legacy she leaves. You all have a part of her that will live on in each of you. <3
I haven't seen my cousin Joycie much as an adult but I was able to see her a few years ago at my Dad's funeral. I told her how I remembered the times she babysat me when I was little when we lived across the park from her, especially the time she brought me a giant can of Hershey's syrup from the Dairy Queen. Good memories. Rest in peace and best wishes to the family.
To the family of Joyce Davis.....I never met your sweet Mother...Joyce and I became close friends playing our game “Word with Friends” online. We played this game for eight years. We laughed, we joked with each other, and as Mother’s and Grandmothers do..we bragged about our children and grandchildren. She reached out to me desperate to get in touch with me when she went to the hospital. She left her phone number and I called her...first time we ever spoke to each other. I stayed in touch with Joyce every day. I am so saddened with the loss of my friend and your Mother. There are no words to express how we feel with such a dear lady leaving this earth. It seems like there was always a whirlwind going on in our very large family and we saw each other nearly every day. Joycie was always that quite little girl with brown braids that had a smile for everyone. When she lived in Webberville she used to come and visit me in Haslett. She always had her kids in tow. Sometimes she would bring Jamie. Joycie will always bring a smile to my face and heart when I think of her.
Rest in peace my friend. We went through some trying times together. But we were partners in crime. And to your family I send prayers.
My favorite thing about Aunt Joycie besides her creativity (her painting, quilting, sewing you name it she rocked it), was her laugh. It was contagious. When she told the " Potter Park Zoo goose poop story, she could not get through that story without laughing. I will miss her story telling. The way her face lights up when she smiles. The way, at the end of that story she would always ask" Judi, How did the car smell on the way home?"
