For close to 60 years, Hopcroft Funeral Home has provided care and professionalism to bereaved families.
1948
Arthur L. Hopcroft founded Hopcroft Funeral Directors in Hazel Park, Michigan. Arthur quickly earned a strong reputation in the community for his dedication to helping others.
1955
The current Hazel Park location was built to better serve the growing needs of grieving families.
1970s
Robert Scott began working for George Ashley at Ashley-Scott Funeral Home (founded in the 1920s).
1983
David A. Hopcroft, Arthur’s son, began working with his father after returning from four years of service in the U.S. Navy.
1985
The Hopcroft family acquired the Sawyer-Swanson Funeral Home in Madison Heights, Michigan. It was renamed Hopcroft Funeral Home, Madison Heights Chapel. The Madison Heights location underwent extensive renovations and expansions after the acquisition.
1988
David A. Hopcroft became a licensed funeral director after completing his studies at Wayne State School of Mortuary Science.
2006
The Hopcroft family purchased the Ashley-Scott Funeral Home in Hazel Park, Michigan. George Ashley originally founded this funeral home in the 1920s, and Robert Scott had owned it since the 1970s.

Robert Scott became semi-retired but continues as an associate with Hopcroft Funeral Homes.
